One-Word Books & One-Word Novels
A one-word book deliberately restricts its verbal material to a single word or expression. The constraint can become the subject, joke or conceptual mechanism of the work.
Why make one?
The extreme limitation creates a strong mismatch with the conventional expectations of a book. Readers bring assumptions about plot, characters and information; the work responds with almost nothing but the constraint.
