LOL
A Comedy. A deliberately strange literary artifact built around a reaction that became shorthand for laughter itself.
What is LOL?
LOL is a familiar internet expression associated with laughter or amusement. The Archive takes the compactness and cultural familiarity of that expression and treats it as literary material rather than disposable conversation.
The concept
LOL belongs to AHA's larger experiment with ordinary language. A tiny expression can carry social history, internet culture, irony and emotion. Remove the surrounding conversation and the expression becomes the entire premise.
Why it belongs in the Archive
The work sits at the intersection of absurdist humor, conceptual comedy, novelty publishing and experimental literature. Its humor comes partly from the mismatch between the scale of a conventional book and the smallness of the source expression.
Frequently asked
Is LOL a conventional comedy book?
It is presented as A Comedy within the Archive's conceptual publishing universe.
What is the larger idea?
To treat everyday language as an object worthy of literary attention, even when the premise is intentionally unnecessary.
