YUCK
YUCK is a stronger expression of disgust than ew — physical revulsion
What YUCK does
YUCK is EW's bigger sibling. Where EW can be playful, YUCK signals genuine physical disgust. The hard K at the end performs the rejection — the consonant closes the mouth against whatever is yucky.
YUCK as literary candidate
YUCK is phonetically satisfying as a disgust word: the Y begins the mouth, the U opens it, the CK slams it shut. This mimics the physical experience of revulsion.
